The Rhode Island Food Policy Council is building a more equitable, accessible, economically vibrant, and environmentally sustainable food system in Rhode Island. We coordinate and collaborate with diverse people from all sectors who are committed and engaged in making our food system equitable; supporting farms, fisheries and food businesses; and working to improve and conserve our land, air, and water. We create partnerships, develop policies, and advocate for improvements to the local food system. Founded on October 24, 2011 and established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2021, RIFPC serves as the backbone network for the people, businesses, government agencies and community organizations that make up Rhode Island’s food system. Our role requires a strong administrative and financial foundation, a dedicated staff, and an unwavering focus on developing partnerships, programs, and policy priorities that support our vision.
